Description of Duties

The advisory council is comprised of agricultural industry representatives from various agri-businesses and experts in the local community. They meet annually to review the curriculum offerings and give advice on current and new endeavors for the agricultural education program for the Oconto Falls Public Schools. If you would like to join our team, please contact the chairperson or other team members listed in the right column.

Welcome to our online, transparent, and fluid curriculum posting. Curriculum is always improving to meet the needs of learners. Our talented team works hard to keep current practices, knowledge, skills, and assessments progressive and applicable for learners.

OTHER - INITIATIVES FOR OUR AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
Workplace Safety
Where many of the AFNR career pathways contain hazardous occupations, it is critical that all students have a strong base of instruction and experience with workplace safety. In this component, students will examine and summarize the importance of health, safety and environmental management systems in the AFNR workplace.

Agricultural Literacy
All students also need a base understanding of the width and breadth of the agricultural industry. This component will require students to research and analyze how issues, trends, technologies and public policies impact AFNR systems. They will also evaluate the nature and role of agriculture in society and the economy.

Academic Career Planning
All students need to have an academic career plan in order to graduate high school. Students at OFHS utilize an online management system called CareerCruising.com. Our CTE program offers an integrated approach to career research and discovery. (Need Council thoughts on this item)

Standardized Testing Prep with an Agricultural Twist
All students need to feel successful and confident heading into a standardized test. After reviewing types of prep questions, our agricultural education program can provide sample prompts and simulations to aid students with not only learning, but the process of taking an exam in an online format.
