How do you feed a hungry world? As humans over fish waters, fish consumption is on the rise, and demand that food isn't traveling hundreds of miles to their kitchen tables; which agricultural production systems rise to the top to meet these demands? Aquaculture, aquaponics, hydroponics, and aeroponics are all viable production systems that future agriculturalist need to understand, design, build, maintain, and turn a profit for livable wages. Students and community members embark on an educational journey in our Aquascience Learning Center. From raising fish and plants to harvesting the fruits of our toil, learners are exposed to the science, technology, the careful consideration of food safety, and financing it takes to be successful in aquascience production systems. UW Platteville Sensors Monitoring SystemOur agricultural education program is thankful to extend our learning space to the University of Wisconsin - Platteville Engineering Program. Students (Anton Pohl, Grant Wedepohl, and Colin Deboer), whom are all former FFA members and agricultural education students, designed, constructed, installed, and continue to showcase the monitoring system they developed. See the data tables below for LIVE feed data coming from our aquaculture/aquaponics system.
